Following the Apex Legends Season 2 start date announcement at E3 2019, Respawn has been making some interesting changes in its popular battle royale game. From new flying dragon-type monsters to Repulsor starting back up, it’s clear that Respawn has been teasing some big reveal for the next season of the game, and now a new leaked trailer for Season 2 showcases a ton of new changes and content coming next week.
The trailer gives players an overview of a lot of the content coming in Season 2 of Apex Legends. Perhaps the biggest things changing is King’s Canyon, which will be getting an overhaul this season. Many iconic locations across the map are getting changed, most notably Repulsor, the Shattered Forest, and most of the water-filled areas like Bridges and Cascades. An unknown character (perhaps a new hero) set off an EMP at Repulsor which caused monsters to flood the arena, bringing many changes to the terrain. Flyers were introduced in the past weeks, and will be making a return it seems in Season 2. The Leviathans that were previously held at bay are finally entering the map as well, which should make things more interesting.
Season 2 is also bringing big changes to the Apex Legends Battle Pass for those diving back in this season. Unlike last season, this season’s pass will be more challenge-oriented which allows for players to make progress quickly without investing many hours to grind up levels. The rewards are also getting a boost to make it worth the grind. The trailer showcases two new legendary skins, one for Caustic and one for Octane, as well as a snazzy new Spitfire skin. The major seasonal reward is an evolving 301 skin called Iron Rampage.
Season 2 will also bring some other great changes, like the new Apex Legends hero Wattson who is all about electrical traps and defenses. A surprising addition comes in the form of skydive emotes, which will allow players to add a bit of flare to the usual flying in the game. Lastly, there will be ranked leagues coming to Apex Legends for players to test their skill. Hopefully all of these changes will ensure that Season 2 is even more successful than Season 1.
Apex Legends is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
