While many players enjoy the new content, some believe that the battle royale is flooded with too many guns. Over the past few seasons, the game has seen the number of weapons grow with the addition of the 30-30 Repeater, Bocek, Rampage, and now the new CAR SMG. Numerous gamers have taken to social media to voice their concerns about the expanding list of guns in Apex Legends. As a result of this outcry from the community, it appears that the developers are willing to make changes moving forward.

Recently, a developer that worked on Apex Legends posted a message about weapon pool balancing on Twitter. In a November 13 tweet made by associate live balance designer John Larson, he reassured fans that Respawn was aware of fans’ concerns about the game having too many guns. Larson’s comments came in direct response to a gamer that had tweeted that “nobody cares about P20, bocek or 3030.” Larson tweeted in defense of the lesser-used guns. “You take that back. I care about the Bocek,” he said.

While Larson defended the guns already included in the game, he admitted that the trend of new weapons releasing with each new season can’t continue. Beginning in Season 8, a new gun has been added to Apex Legends with every season. In addition, he told players that the development team had already started working on a solution to the problem. “ We got stuff in mind,” he stated.

In addition to teasing new changes for the weapons pool, the developers at Respawn Entertainment recently revealed that changes were coming to the Season 11 map Storm Point. The developer noted that an update coming this season focuses on adjusting final circles to improve the quality of endgame fights. In addition, more cover is being added to various locations on the map, such as Barometer.

At the time of writing, Respawn has not revealed the specifics regarding its plans to address the inflated weapon pool. Time will tell if the company decides to vault weapons for extended periods or whether they have developed another solution to the problem. Either way, it will be interesting to see what changes the developers have in store for the weapon pool moving forward. Whatever form these changes come in, hopefully, they improve the quality of matches in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
