Unfortunately, those that have played the battle royale for a while know that coordinating with random teammates is easier said than done. In addition, working as a team can be even more challenging when these squadmates do not have working microphones to communicate. While Apex Legends has a robust ping system for communicating, it can only do so much. And sometimes, random teammates make decisions that are impossible to predict.

Recently, a Reddit user called Sonynyo shared a clip from their time playing Apex Legends on the Olympus map. The action started near the Solar Array POI, as the Reddit user, who was playing as Mirage, decided to hitch a ride with their Valkyrie teammate, who was using Skyward Dive. Sonynyo likely thought his squad was about to reposition to a safer location on the map using this Ultimate. Unfortunately, their random teammate had other ideas.
While flying above the battlefield, Valkyrie picked up a team in the area. However, the situation appeared to be too much for the random teammate. Instead of diving toward a safe location, they took Sonynyo and their other teammate towards an abyss. Before the Reddit user could realize what was happening and break away, the Valkyrie player flew too close to the edge of the map, killing their entire squad in the process. This series of unfortunate events led Sonynyo to sarcastically comment, “Randoms sometimes make 10000 IQ plays,” when posting the clip to Reddit.
Unsurprisingly, numerous members of the Apex Legends community commiserated with Sonynyo on Reddit. Since sharing this clip showcasing why random teammates cannot be trusted, the post has received more than 5,800 upvotes. Among the comments, some questioned why the Reddit user let their teammate plunge them to their death. However, Sonynyo revealed that they were “stunned” by the situation and “couldn’t react.” In addition, another user known as Vaguely-sure pointed out that this clip was proof of why it is always better (and safer) to disconnect when flying.
Unfortunately, poor decision-making from random teammates is not the only thing players have been complaining about recently in the battle royale. Over the past couple of weeks, players have reported issues ranging from server lag, hit registration issues, and problems connecting to matches in Apex Legends. Hopefully, these problems can be resolved so players can continue to capture humorous clips in the game similar to this recent one posted by Sonynyo.
Apex Legends is currently available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
